Given Empire's conditioning, it is extremely rare that a Sectoid would rebel against Star Gods and abandon his duties, but sometimes one gets left behind. If they manage to survive, they develop their identities well beyond the intended point and typically lose interest in rejoining their masters. Such Sectoids may join a local Reticulan community, but some get too ambitious and greedy, so they become space criminals instead. With their psionic powers and cold demeanor, Rogue Sectoids are well respected among Rimriders and other space bandits.
