Men of the Shelter Communities are bleak, dumb and lacking any energy. They are even too weak to be used as slaves (unless we'd want to kill them), at least without proper therapy. Living in isolation made them easy to fall sick when exposed to the outside world. Really, why would anyone choose such a pitiful existence as theirs, in exchange for a bit of illusory safety? Purebloods surely are bizarre.
