The Star Gods have long ago unlocked the secret of eternal life. The necromantic technology they use is called 'Reteges'. Nobody outside of their own race is allowed to use it, and nobody knows how exactly it works, yet the general mechanism is known. The principle is to move the consciousness, or soul, from a dying body to a fresh one, through a matrix that sustains it.
