We have just developed a type of a craft which has a large landing footprint (20 metres in smallest dimension). Not all missions are suitable for this sort of craft. Simply put, there may be not enough space near the target to accommodate it. Landing too far would jeopardize the mission, and crashing into some buildings is no good either... You will be notified about these limitations in the mission briefings.
