Our knowledge of arcane circuits says that various precious stones are used in them to achieve different vibration, flow and effect. We can now start thinking where this piece of the puzzle fits - we don't know yet what effects can be conjured besides the obvious ones. However I'd advise to store any found gems, since their unique qualities are definitely needed to achieve just the right vibration to summon great powers.
