It appears that the humans were once in possession of fabled weapons of mass destruction, able to destroy whole cities. They manufactured these weapons from a rare earth element, called 'Uranium'. Tragically, it seems that this exciting technology has been lost forever, and the Star Gods made sure the existing fission weapons stockpiles disappeared.
